Over the last decade Northern Ireland has been transformed and is now considered a ‘must-see’ tourism destination.

In recent times the world spotlight has shone on everything from our industrial and maritime heritage, to our music, our golfing credentials, our unique stories and breathtaking scenery, all emphasising that Northern Ireland not only as a positive place to visit, but is a great place to live, work, study and invest in.

Titanic Belfast is the world's largest Titanic exhibition, extending over nine galleries and located on the slipways where the famous liner was built.

Our tourism infrastructure has been bolstered by the development of five high profile visitor attractions – Saint Patrick and Christian Heritage; the Mournes; Causeway Coast and Glens; the Walled City of Derry; and Titanic – which have international standout and world-class excellence.

Tourism is currently worth 4.9% of Northern Ireland's GDP and sustains over 40,000 jobs. The aim is to double tourism's contribution to the economy by 2020. This means generating an additional 10,000 new jobs and drawing in 4.5 million visitors into Northern Ireland every year.

While Tourism Northern Ireland  is the lead agency in developing the tourism sector, there is a range of support available to the tourism accommodation sector through Invest NI.
